This March, Universal Orlando Resort is adding even more enchantment to its beloved interactive wand experiences in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Guests will be able to cast spells like never before with an all-new collection of Second-Generation Interactive Wands, featuring light and haptic effects. These new wands will be available for purchase starting March 1.
In addition to the new wands, Universal Orlando Resort is enhancing the experience through the Universal Orlando Resort app with Universal Play, which allows guests to personalize their magical journey. The app offers exclusive adventures, House Points, and much more. Guests will also be able to explore newly added spell-casting locations in Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and the upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park, opening later this year.
All-New Second-Generation Interactive Wands
The new collection of Second-Generation Interactive Wands will be available in four beautiful designs. These wands feature illumination effects and haptic vibrations, allowing guests to see and feel the magic of every spell they cast. Each wand comes in an exclusive package marked with a unique icon and includes a spell map, guiding guests to the best locations to practice their magic. The package also contains information on using Universal Play to enhance the experience.
Universal Play in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
With the new interactive wands, guests will be able to unlock a more personalized and dynamic experience through Universal Play in the Universal Orlando Resort app. Here are some of the exciting features:
- Personalization: Guests can create a Wizard Profile by customizing their wizard name, Hogwarts House, Avatar, and Patronus. These choices will influence the magic they cast, offering a tailored experience with every spell.
- Exclusive Adventures: Guests can take on exclusive quests of varying difficulty levels, which will increase their Wizarding Level, unlock new spells, and further immerse them in the Wizarding World.
- House Points: Cast spells to earn points for your Hogwarts House and track your progress on the Leaderboard. The House Cup will be awarded to the house that earns the most points each day.
As guests increase their Wizarding Level, they will unlock more spells, adventures, and surprises during their visits to Universal Orlando Resort.
New and Enhanced Wand Magic Locations in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley
Universal Orlando Resort is expanding the magic with five new interactive wand locations, bringing the total number of wand magic spots to 30. Some of the exciting new experiences include:
- The Duelling Club Tent: In Hogsmeade, guests can cast a spell to bring a dueling dummy to life and test their skills.
- The Owl Post: In Hogsmeade, mischievous pixies appear, and guests can try to freeze them with their magic.
- Knockturn Alley Staircase: In Diagon Alley, a dementor emerges, and guests must conjure their Patronus to defend themselves.
- Ariadne’s Spinners: Also in Diagon Alley, guests must repel spiders before they take over the area.
- Knockturn Alley Sky: In Diagon Alley, guests can control a storm in the night sky with their spells.
Additionally, existing wand magic experiences in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley will feature enhanced effects, including new visceral casting experiences and magical spellbooks to offer guidance.
At the upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic in Universal Epic Universe, guests will discover 14 new wand magic locations where they can go on thrilling adventures, uncover the Philosopher’s Stone, and interact with magical creatures like Nifflers and Demiguises.
