One of the most anticipated additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is finally here, and we recently had the opportunity to experience the new Muppets-themed coaster for ourselves.
If you’ve ever ridden Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, the first thing you’ll notice is that the track layout remains unchanged. The high-speed launch, inversions, and twists and turns that fans have loved for years are all still there. However, despite sharing the same track, the attraction somehow feels smoother than before. Whether it’s updates to the ride vehicles or improvements made during the transformation, the overall ride experience felt noticeably more comfortable.
Of course, the biggest changes can be found before you even board the coaster.
The reimagined queue is packed with Muppet charm from start to finish. Every room seems to contain a new joke, reference, or hidden detail waiting to be discovered. For longtime Muppets fans, the queue alone may be worth slowing down and taking your time to explore. The abundance of Easter eggs scattered throughout the attraction creates an experience that rewards repeat visits, as it’s nearly impossible to catch everything the first time through.
In fact, the queue may be one of the strongest parts of the entire attraction. While nobody enjoys a long wait, Disney has done an excellent job creating an environment that keeps guests entertained while they move through the line. Between the visual gags, callbacks to classic Muppet moments, and appearances from fan-favorite characters, there is always something new to look at.
Once aboard the coaster, the Muppets’ signature humor continues throughout the experience. The attraction successfully combines the thrills that made the original coaster a fan favorite with the chaotic energy and comedy that have defined the Muppets for generations.
What impressed us most was how natural the transition feels. Disney didn’t simply place Muppet characters onto an existing attraction. Instead, the entire experience feels thoughtfully designed around the franchise while still preserving the high-energy thrills that guests expect from one of Hollywood Studios’ premier attractions.
For Muppet fans, this attraction is packed with enough references and hidden details to keep you smiling from the moment you enter the queue until you return to the unload platform. And for thrill seekers, the coaster still delivers the same adrenaline rush that made the original version so popular.
While some longtime fans may miss Aerosmith’s presence, the new Muppets coaster succeeds in creating an experience that feels fresh, fun, and uniquely Disney. After our first ride, one thing became clear: this isn’t just a retheme—it’s a celebration of the Muppets that both fans and first-time riders are likely to enjoy.
