We recently had the opportunity to attend the media preview for Walt Disney World’s Cool Kids’ Summer, and after experiencing everything firsthand, one thing is clear: this year’s event is a major step up from what we saw last summer.
From new entertainment offerings and interactive experiences to upgraded resort activities and exclusive merchandise, Disney has clearly invested more into making Cool Kids’ Summer a destination-wide celebration for families. While last year’s event offered some fun moments, this year’s version feels bigger, more immersive, and much more thoughtfully put together.
One of the things that stood out immediately was the attention to detail. Even the complimentary drawstring bags available at select Disney Resort hotels participating in Cool Kids’ Summer have been upgraded. It may seem like a small thing, but it’s a perfect example of how Disney has elevated the entire experience. The improvements aren’t limited to the major attractions—they can be found throughout the event.
Of all the new additions, my personal favorite has to be the new Bluey experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. As one of the most popular children’s characters in the world right now, Bluey’s arrival is sure to be a huge hit with families. During the preview, it was easy to see how much excitement this experience will bring to younger guests. The atmosphere, character interactions, and overall energy make it one of the standout offerings of this year’s Cool Kids’ Summer.
Another highlight was the newly enhanced Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This area has been transformed into a colorful, energetic space where kids can play, dance, interact with characters, and simply enjoy being kids. The updates bring new life to the area and create a central hub for family fun that perfectly fits the spirit of the event.
What impressed me most throughout the preview was how connected everything felt. Rather than a collection of separate activities, Cool Kids’ Summer now feels like a resort-wide celebration. Whether you’re visiting the parks, staying at one of the participating resorts, or taking part in special entertainment offerings, there is a consistent theme of family fun woven throughout the experience.
Disney has also done a great job creating experiences that appeal to a wide range of ages. Younger children will love the character encounters and interactive play areas, while parents will appreciate the extra entertainment and special touches that make a summer vacation feel even more memorable.
After attending the media event, I can confidently say that Cool Kids’ Summer has evolved significantly from its inaugural year. Disney took what worked, expanded on it, and delivered an event that feels more complete in every way. From the upgraded resort offerings and exclusive giveaways to the exciting new experiences like Bluey at Animal Kingdom and the refreshed Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios, this year’s event offers more reasons than ever for families to visit Walt Disney World this summer.
If our preview was any indication, Cool Kids’ Summer 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting family-focused offerings Walt Disney World has presented in recent years—and we’re looking forward to seeing guests experience it all for themselves.
