From November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027, the Disneyland Resort transforms for the holidays with festive decorations, seasonal attractions, special entertainment, holiday food, and plenty of Disney magic.

And while Disneyland is magical any time of year, there is something about walking down Main Street, U.S.A., surrounded by holiday lights and decorations that makes the experience feel completely different.

1. Disneyland Becomes a Holiday Wonderland

If you think Disneyland is decorated beautifully during the rest of the year, wait until you see it at Christmas.

The holiday transformation reaches just about every corner of the Disneyland Resort. Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle sparkles at night, Main Street, U.S.A. is covered in festive decorations and “it’s a small world” receives its beloved holiday makeover.

And it isn’t just about decorations. Some of Disneyland’s most popular attractions get seasonal transformations, including Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday.

There is also the nighttime magic that comes with the season. Depending on the entertainment schedule, guests can experience holiday fireworks, seasonal projections, and other nighttime entertainment.

This is one of those trips where simply walking around the park can be part of the experience.

2. The Holiday Food Deserves Its Own Vacation

Disneyland and food already go together pretty well. Add the holidays, and things get even more exciting!

During the holiday season, Disney California Adventure hosts Disney Festival of Holidays, featuring festive food marketplaces, seasonal beverages, and entertainment inspired by different cultural traditions. A Sip and Savor Pass is also available for guests who want to sample select food and nonalcoholic beverages throughout the festival.

Then there is Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, which brings additional holiday entertainment, decorations, and seasonal food to Disney California Adventure.

Disney has already announced that its 2026 holiday food offerings will include limited-time holiday bites, desserts, and beverages throughout the resort. If you’re a Disney foodie, this is where planning becomes especially helpful. There are going to be more things you want to try than you realistically have room for in your stomach or your schedule. Knowing where to eat, which restaurants require reservations, and which seasonal foods are worth prioritizing can save you from making expensive decisions on the fly.

3. The Holiday Entertainment Gives You Something You Can’t Experience All Year

One of our favorite things about visiting Disneyland during a seasonal celebration is that your vacation isn’t just about the rides. During the holidays, the entertainment lineup becomes part of the reason to visit.

Disneyland’s holiday offerings include A Christmas Fantasy Parade, “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks, holiday entertainment, and seasonal experiences throughout Disneyland Park.

Over at Disney California Adventure, you’ll find World of Color – Season of Light, Disney Festival of Holidays, and Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, among other seasonal offerings.

There are also opportunities to see Disney characters in their holiday outfits and, on the appropriate dates, to meet Santa Claus at the resort.

4. A Disneyland Holiday Trip Can Become a Family Tradition

This might be the biggest reason of all! A Disneyland holiday vacation doesn’t have to be a once-and-done trip. It can become the trip your family looks forward to every year. Maybe you make it your annual Christmas tradition. Maybe you take the kids when they’re little and return years later to see how much has changed.
