Disney Cruise Line is getting ready to welcome its newest ship, and there’s a lot to believe in.
The Disney Believe is the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet and is scheduled to set sail in late 2027. The ship will be the fourth vessel in Disney’s Wish Class, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
While Disney has already given us our first look at the ship, there is still so much we don’t know—and we’re especially excited because Academy Travel will be there for the media event sailing where Disney will reveal even more about the Disney Believe next week!
Here’s everything we know so far and what we’re looking forward to discovering onboard.
When Will the Disney Believe Set Sail?
The Disney Believe is scheduled to make its debut in late 2027.
The ship is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Disney has already shared a first look at some of the ship’s design elements, but many of the onboard experiences remain under wraps.
And that’s where things get especially exciting.
Academy Travel Will Be There!
We won’t just be watching the announcements from home.
Academy Travel will be sailing on the Disney Believe media event sailing, giving us the opportunity to experience the ship firsthand as Disney reveals more of what guests can expect.
That means we’ll be bringing you firsthand looks, ship updates, new experiences, dining, entertainment, spaces, and all the details Disney shares during the event.

The Fourth Wish-Class Ship
The Disney Believe will be the fourth Wish-Class ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
It follows:
- Disney Wish
- Disney Treasure
- Disney Destiny
- Disney Believe
Each Wish-Class ship has its own distinct identity and storytelling theme, and Disney Believe is no exception.
The ship’s overarching theme centers around promise and possibilities, celebrating the idea of believing in magic, family, nature, yourself, and the possibilities that come with following your dreams.
What Is the Theme of Disney Believe?
The name Believe gives us a pretty good idea of the heart behind the ship.
Disney says the ship will celebrate the power of belief—including believing in yourself and the possibilities ahead.
That theme will be incorporated throughout the ship’s design, entertainment, dining, and experiences.
And based on what Disney has already revealed, we’re expecting plenty of familiar Disney stories to help bring that theme to life.
Moana Will Take Center Stage in the Grand Hall
One of the biggest reveals so far is the ship’s Grand Hall.
The Disney Believe Grand Hall will be inspired by Disney Animation’s Moana, with a bronze statue of Moana, Pua and Heihei serving as the focal point.
The space will feature influences from the South Pacific and incorporate Polynesian-inspired finishes and details.
As with the other Wish-Class ships, the Grand Hall will serve as an important gathering space for guests and a central part of the ship’s storytelling.
We can’t wait to see what this space looks like in person!
Buzz and Woody Are Taking Over the Stern
The Disney Believe is also getting a very fun pair of stern characters.
Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Pixar’s Toy Story will appear on the stern of the ship, working together to write the ship’s name using oversized yellow crayons.
Even the lettering of “Disney Believe” will take inspiration from the Toy Story films.
This will also mark the first time Pixar characters have been featured as the stern characters on a Disney Cruise Line ship.
Tinker Bell Will Appear on the Bow
At the front of the ship, guests will find Tinker Bell.
The Disney Believe’s bow will feature a hand-painted filigree of Tinker Bell inspired by her original appearance in Peter Pan.
She’ll be surrounded by silhouettes of characters from the film, including Peter Pan, Wendy and Captain Hook.
It’s another classic Disney touch that will make the ship instantly recognizable.
More Disney Stories Are Coming Onboard
Disney has already confirmed that several beloved Disney Animation stories will influence the Disney Believe, including:
- Moana
- Encanto
- Frozen
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- The Little Mermaid
But how these stories will be incorporated into the ship is something we’re still waiting to learn more about.
And thankfully, we won’t have to wait forever.
What We Still Don’t Know
There are still plenty of details that Disney has yet to reveal, including:
- Restaurants and dining concepts
- Stage shows and entertainment
- Lounges and adult-exclusive spaces
- Kids’ clubs
- Pools and recreation
- Character experiences
- Stateroom details
- Onboard activities
- Itineraries and homeport information
And those are exactly the kinds of details we’re hoping to learn more about during the media event sailing.
