Hey Travellers,
Do you have a Disney Cruise Line Sailing booked out of Port Canaveral but are unsure how to get there? No need to worry! We have some options to share with you!
Port Canaveral is about an hour away from Orlando International Airport (MCO) and about an hour and 15 minutes from Walt Disney World, (journey times vary depending on traffic.
Driving to the Port:
If you live in Florida, or have a car accessible to you and want to drive yourself to the port, that is definitely an option! Port Canaveral has a multi-story, covered parking lot right next to the Port Terminal. It is quite pricey at $17.00 per day + tax, however it is extremely convenient.
Flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO):
If you’re flying into Orlando International Airport, you could always Uber or Lyft which would be a little pricey due to the distance, however our choice is always to use Disney transportation!
Ground transfers between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Port Canaveral are available for purchase ahead of time on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or by letting your Academy Travel Agent know you would like to add on Ground Transportation. Airport transfers are available on embarkation and disembarkation days only, for $39 per Guest. You can choose to purchase this upon arrival however only a limited number of spots may be available so we recommend purchasing in advance. Be prepared to provide your inbound and outbound flight details to the Disney Cruise Line ground transportation team.
If you’ve purchased transfers, once you land you can collect your luggage at baggage claim and then proceed directly to Side B, Level 1 – Ground Transportation.
Coming from Walt Disney World?
If you’ve spent some time at Walt Disney World Prior to your Disney Cruise, you can book transportation directly from your resort! Once you’ve booked your Walt Disney World hotel, you can book your Disney Cruise Line bus transportation. The week of your cruise, you will receive an email stating the time that you’ll be picked up and you will need to be ready at the Disney Cruise Line shuttle area (at the front of your hotel) at that time! They will take care of your checked luggage for you and ensure it is delivered to your stateroom onboard the ship.
Heading back to Walt Disney World from Port Canaveral:
After you disembark from your magical, memorable Disney Cruise, you might be heading back to Walt Disney World. If that is the case, you will need to disembark the ship no later than 7:45 am as the bus back to Walt Disney World Resort leaves promptly at 9:00 am.
Orlando International Airport from Port Canaveral:
Getting back to the Airport using Disney Cruise Line transportation is very easy! They are shuttle buses that run continuously for hours. Once you clear customs, head to the bus station, and all they will require are your Key to the World card (stateroom key). If you have already purchased transportation, your name will already be on their list, and you will be able to drop your luggage in the drop area at the side of the bus, and be on your way! Transportation instructions will also be on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, so you can review them the night before if you need to.
While disembarking and figuring out transportation may seem a bit overwhelming, Disney Cruise Line makes the process so easy and seamless!
