Hey Travellers,
Last week, I was lucky enough to stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort in Walt Disney World and dine at Topolino’s Terrace which is the restaurant on the 10th floor of the Riviera with a roof-top terrace! Usually it would be recommended to get a reservation for dinner at Topolino’s, however it was storming quite badly (typical Florida Summer weather) and so I tried my luck at the walk-up list and it only had a 10-minute wait! I’d highly recommend checking the walk-up lists on the My Disney Experience App for restaurants you’re struggling to get a reservation for!
Topolino’s Terrace is French and Italian Cuisine and when you enter, you immediately feel like you’ve been transported to a Riviera Paradise. The restaurant itself has a very luxurious feeling and the warm lighting is rather romantic.
Once seated, my server brought over a warm French Baguette and some Olive Oil which was delicious and a great starter for the meal. I also ordered the Marseille Spritz and I truly think this is one of the best drinks I have ever had. The Spritz consisted of G-Vine Gin, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic and Lemon. It was extremely refreshing and I would highly recommend. They also have an array of mocktails if you don’t drink alcohol.
For my main course, I ordered the Rigatoni which I had heard people rave about! The Rigatoni consists of braised chicken sugo, broccolini, pancetta, wild mushrooms and black truffle. It was one of the tastiest pasta dishes I have ever had. The sauce was creamy and the black truffle really elevated this dish. For dessert, I asked the sever which was the most popular dessert and she recommended the Warm Chocolate Cake, so I had to order it. If you love chocolate and sweet things, this is definitely the dessert for you. The Warm Chocolate Cake consists of a Caramel Center and is served with Chantilly Cream and Raspberries. If you get this dessert, my recommendation is to get a bite with the cake, the Chantilly and a Raspberry, it truly is the perfect bite, being sweet and tart at the same time. The Caramel Center was phenomenal and I would return just for this dessert. My only complaint would be that I wish it had been a bit warmer when it was served.
After dinner, I headed to the bar to pick up another drink (French Rose) and thankfully it had stopped raining. As incredible as the dinner was, the highlight of my night was watching the Epcot Fireworks from the terrace. The music is pumped in so you feel like you’re really there and the view was incredible. If you’re not dining at Topolino’s, you can still buy a drink and head out to the Terrace. I’d recommend getting out there about 15 minutes prior to the fireworks beginning, to get the best spot.
Topolino’s Terrace has definitely become top of my list in terms of Walt Disney World Resort Restaurants. The atmosphere, the service and the food/beverages were all incredible. I would most definitely suggest adding this to your bucket list if you haven’t done so already. Topolino’s Terrace is also open daily for breakfast, where you can join Mickey and Friends – this is next on my list to try!
