Hey Travellers,
Getting ready to set sail on a Disney Cruise but wondering what to take with you? We’ve got you covered! Here is a list of our must-pack items when sailing on a Disney Cruise!
Travel Documents:
First up, and probably most important is your essential travel documents. If you’re cruising out of the country you’ll need them to get home but also as a form of ID.
Camera:
There are thousands of photo opportunities on a Disney Cruise, both on the ship and at the ports. Whether you take a camera or use your smart phone to take the pictures, you’ll want something to capture these once in a lifetime memories.
Sunscreen:
Most Disney Cruises visit tropical climates with very warm weather and it is always important to protect your skin! Make sure you take your sunscreen and to keep applying frequently – even if it seems cloudy!
Books:
Staying entertained on a Disney Cruise is as easy as can be, however if you like to sunbathe and relax like us, reading is the perfect pastime while enjoying the ship’s pools – especially on any Days at Sea!
Motion Sickness Medications:
If you’ve never sailed on a cruise before we highly recommend taking motion sickness medications with you just incase whether it be tablets, patches, or sea bands. Even for experienced cruisers, the weather can make the water extremely choppy and can induce motion sickness and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. However you can always purchase motion sickness medication onboard if you need to.
Sunglasses:
As we mentioned earlier, the climate in most Disney Cruise destinations is hot which means the sun is out! Protecting your eyes from the sun is important and means you won’t spend your vacation squinting. Bonus points if they are Disney themed!
Phone Charger:
Whether you’re purchasing onboard wifi or wanting to stay disconnected during your vacation – taking a phone charge is extremely important. You’ll be using the Disney Cruise Line’s Navigator App frequently to plan your days, chat with members of your party or make onboard purchases. Additionally if you’re using your phone to take photos or videos, you want to make sure it has the battery to do so!
Polaroid Camera:
If you already own one or have been considering purchasing one – we always recommend taking a polaroid camera with you on a Disney Cruise. There are such beautiful photo opportunities and it can be an extremely fun way to commemorate your vacation especially considering it is an immediate print out.
Lanyard:
When travelling on a Disney Cruise your room key (aka Key to the World Card) needs to be on you at all times. It will not just be your room key, it will be your form of ID, your way to make any additional purchases e.g alcoholic beverages, merchandise finds etc and your onboard PhotoPass scanner. Having a lanyard makes it easy to carry your Key to the World card around with you at all times.
Bathing Suit:
There are plenty of pools, hot tubs and saunas on a Disney Cruise so make sure you have your bathing suit with you. Especially if you plan to visit any beaches or take part in any shore excursions such as snorkelling or scuba diving!
Mickey Ears:
You might not be visiting a theme park but you will still be completely immersed with Disney so make sure you take your favourite pair of Mickey Ears (or purchase a Disney Cruise Line exclusive pair online).
Wine or Beer for those who partake:
Did you know you can take your own alcohol on a Disney Cruise? That’s right! Each guest may check in 6 cans of beer or 2 bottles of wine. These must be brought on in your carry on and not in your checked luggage. Any additional alcohol purchased at ports of calls will be stored on the Ship until disembarkation day.
Downy Wrinkle Spray:
Don’t want to pack a steamer but want to make sure your clothes aren’t filled with wrinkles? This wrinkle spray is the best – just hang up your garments, spray them and smooth them out.
