Hey Travellers,
Yesterday we made a trip over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort to dine at Steakhouse 71 for the very first time, and we were NOT disappointed. Named for the year Disney’s Contemporary Resort first opened, Steakhouse 71 harkens back to the design style of the 1970s, reimagined in a contemporary, comfortable and sleek way. You’ll even notice some Florida flair—such as Orange Bird and citrus groves—mixed in with the décor. If you’ve visited Disney’s Contemporary Resort before, you may realize that this did in fact use to be “The Wave” but was refurbished, re-themed and reopened in October, 2021. Steakhouse 71 is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
We made a reservation for 9:50am the morning of on the My Disney Experience App. Entering the resort was a breeze, Security asked for a proof of reservation and a photo I.D to park. We then checked in on the App and by the time we arrived at the restaurant, our table was ready.
There were plenty of options on the menu, but seeing as they are a Steakhouse, I knew I had to try a dish with Steak. They also have the option to add bottomless mimosas for $19.50 which is an excellent deal, especially on Disney Property. I did not opt in for the bottomless mimosas this time, but it will definitely be something to try on our return. These are only available during breakfast, not lunch or dinner.
I opted in for the Steak and Eggs which consists of a “4-oz Filet Mignon, Two Eggs (any style), and Breakfast Potatoes with Bearnaise Sauce”. I chose poached Eggs and had my Steak cooked “Medium”. This was, by far, the greatest breakfast I have had on Disney Property. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. The breakfast potatoes were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and the dipping sauce was the cherry on top! Not to mention, the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food and portion size. I also got a cup of English Breakfast Tea to accompany my meal. We also tried the Steakhouse 71 Seasonal Pancakes which are currently Lemon and Blueberry. They were also divine, very fluffy and light.
I would highly recommend visiting Steakhouse 71 at least once during your next Disney Vacation. We will most definitely be back for Bottomless Mimosas at Breakfast and to try both Lunch, and Dinner services.
