What if I told you this year, there’s even more to find at Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood? And I mean “find” literally. Introducing: the Backlot Club, an interactive digital experience powered by Aptos where your night of fright becomes a quest for exclusive, collectible prizes.

What is the Backlot Club?
The Backlot Club is a digital experience that takes the highs of HHN to the next level at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. As you explore the event, you’ll encounter glowing kiosks where you can collect digital medallions tied to haunted houses, scare zones, and other terrifying experiences. Think of it as a horror scavenger hunt where the only thing more real than the screams of terror are the rewards.
How Does the Backlot Club Work?
Before you can participate in the Backlot Club at HHN, you’ll need to sign up by following these three steps:
- Download the Universal Orlando Resort App or Universal Studios Hollywood App on your mobile device.
- Look for the Backlot Club in the Halloween Horror Nights section.
- Create your account, or sign in if you already have one.
Easy enough, right? Once you’re at Halloween Horror Nights, the fear fun can really begin. As you brave the fog in Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood, you’ll find glowing kiosks themed to the event. Once you come across one, here’s what you do:
- Open the App and pull up your Backlot Club profile.
- Tap your phone or scan the kiosk to claim your digital medallion. Each one is tied to a specific haunted house, scare zone, or experience.
- Collect them all throughout the night, and keep coming back each week for new drops!
PRO TIP: The Backlot Club kiosks can be found at key points across the event, including outside haunted houses and within scare zones. Exact locations will be marked in our App (but we think it’s more fun to explore without the map).
What Can I Win From the Backlot Club?
A winner’s mentality — I like the way you think. Luckily for us, there’s not one, not two, but three types of prizes you can win through the Backlot Club:
- Digital Collectibles: These digital rewards appear instantly, and you can show off your progress in the App anytime.
- Weekly Prizes: Each week, you can redeem your digital collectibles for exclusive physical prizes — extremely cool, exclusive trading cards — at Five & Dime in Universal Studios Florida or the Universal Studio Store at Universal Studios Hollywood.
- The Ultimate Medallion: If you complete the full set of digital collectibles, you’ll unlock an exclusive physical collectible to mark your HHN achievement. Trust me, you’ll want to frame this one right next to that diploma.
