‘Twas the night before your Disney Cruise, and all through the house, families are packing to go see the mouse!
Before you head to the port, we have a few tips to ensure your embarkation day is stress-free & most of all, FUN! First, let’s make sure we have our travel documents we need to get on & off the ship throughout our cruise! Our 3-night Disney Wish sailing is going to the Bahamas, this means that all U.S Citizens (including children) must have either a valid US passport, valid US passport Card, valid Trusted Traveler Card (NEXUS/FAST), Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) issued by the Department of State, OR and original state-issued birth certificate AND a physical government-issued photo ID. (mobile versions will not be accepted!) So that’s 2 forms of ID per adult, one form per child! Canadian Citizens (including children) need an original valid Canadian passport OR an original, valid Trusted Traveler card (NEXUS, FAST). Citizens of ALL other countries must present a valid passport. When debarking the ship in ports of call, ALL guest of ALL ages will need to have their Key to the World card, which will be waiting for you on board at your stateroom door on embarkation day!
Next, we need our Port Arrival form! This form is readily available to you on your Disney Cruise Line account upon completion of check-in! We recommend downloading the mobile version of this form and adding it to your Apple Wallet! If you prefer to print it or screenshot it, that will work, too! As long as the cruise line’s cast members can scan your QR code, you’ll be good! Make sure to keep it out because it will be scanned multiple times before you’re on board!
The morning of your cruise, Disney Cruise Line will email you a very brief Health Questionnaire with only 1-4 questions on it which must be filled out for everyone traveling & submitted before you can board! It’s easy and only takes a few minutes! It will be emailed early in the morning, so check for it before you leave your hotel/home or maybe while you’re riding to the port and be sure to check it off your list BEFORE you arrive to save time!
Packing your carry-on for Embarkation Day is super important, and we’re here to help! When you check in at the port, you will give your luggage to a porter, who will make sure it gets placed on the ship and delivered to your stateroom! Now, Disney Cruise Line, in my experience, is very good at getting bags to your room swiftly; on other cruise lines I’ve had my bags not arrive til late at night, while Disney typically has them to your room by the time you sail away! (or shortly after!) Your stateroom typically is not ready until between 1:15 pm-1:30 pm or later. This means you need to pack ANYTHING you will need or want in your carry-on bag with you when you embark on the ship! These items can include, but are not limited to: ALL TRAVEL DOCUMENTS, medications, sunscreen, swimsuits, makeup, change of clothes, phone charger, refillable water bottle, hat, sunglasses, wallet, etc. If you think you might need it, keep it with you!
Once you’re on board it’s all smooooooth sailing from here on out! Head to Marceline Market to enjoy the buffet, or lounge poolside with pizza, tacos & ice cream! Hey, you’re on vacation, live it up!
Bon Voyage!
